Sarah Y. M. Himmel is the President and a principal in the firm of Two Rivers Law Group, PC, and practices in the firm’s Southwest Virginia office located in Christiansburg, Virginia.
With over 30 years of workers’ compensation experience, Sarah has wide-ranging expertise in handling complex matters before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission. She also has particular and extensive experience in litigating Federal black lung claims, before the United States Department of Labor/Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs, defending claims cases before the Office of Administrative Law Judges, as well as appeals to the Benefits Review Board.
Sarah provides daily advice to insurance carriers on a broad spectrum of issues including claims involving cumulative trauma versus injuries by accident, compensable consequence and change-in-condition claims, statute of limitation defenses, de facto awards, willful misconduct, negotiating lump sum and structured settlements, and fraud and other credibility defenses.
